Steve is responsible for the Field Services Bureau; he is in charge of the Court Services contract as well as the crime lab, Coroners Department, Scientific Investigations, Information Services Division, Communications, and Records.Steve’s previous assignments include corrections, Central Station, Victor Valley Station, Fontana Station, SWAT, Employee Resources, Specialized Investigations, IRNET, Narcotics and Internal Affairs.Steve is a member of the National and California Tactical Officers Association as well as the California Narcotics Officers Association. He is also a member of SEBA and the International Footprint Association and graduated from the P.O.S.T Command College in 2012, and the F.B.I National Academy in 2017.Assistant Sheriff Lana Tomlin has lived in the High Desert with husband Gary for over 30 years.
