I'm willing to look past that if the lessons are good, but I'm wondering what your thoughts are on the quality, cause I'm not really experienced enough to know whether I'm learning bad habits or not. This book covers several advanced concepts such as comprehensions, closures, generators, iterators. Chapter one basically started out with saying "Install Python 2, 3 is not widely used yet." After 9 years Python 3 is more widely used than Python 2.

Done it sir. Each chapter also has some drills and some common student questions in them.As expected in an introductory text, you will learn about all the data structures that you’ll need as a Python programmer. I don't think it's the absolute best but it's good to start on.
All negativity of Zed Shaw aside, is his newest book on Python 3 good, or should I return the book if I already have it?If it's the same as the original version with the syntax updated, my opinion is no.I recommend Automate The Boring Stuff if you want a fast track into practical applications of Python, and programarcadegames.com (my personal favourite) if you like making images, animations, and games. Hi guys, I am learning python on my own from a month and facing lot of problem in solving the problem with in time. Create your personal internet browser! Exercises are relatively 'ok' because they can easily be verified unless the person does a really odd solution.If it's your second language, I think it's pretty decent intro for switching over.I remember, once, my sister complaining. As the other poster said, decision logic just wasn't covered and I didnt want to learn about twenty different types of print functions before I had a program do something useful. Absolute terrible was those learn XYZ language in 24 hours books. In the best-case scenario, they'll find what boils down to the explanation that other authors would have put in the book in the first place.I can't say anything for LPtHW directly, but Learn C the Hard Way was definitely bad. I gave up, got a C# book and visual studio and am actually making programs now.I've found that when I tutor complete beginners, a significant portion This lack of understanding is surprisingly common in my experience.
