Yes, there are campy moments, but overall this is an interesting movie, especially for the early 70s when the western genre was going into a long hibernation. Ernest Borgnine, Strother Martin and Jack Elam were never, ever creepier, nor Robert Culp (as "Thomas... Luther... PRICE") more enjoyably eccentric. It is a very basic rape/revenge story done as a Western. A nice musical score, with a good solo guitar sequence in the middle that recurs from time to time. Welch turned in her usual lackluster performance as the female version of Josey Wales, but Culp and the Clemens boys kept things moving right along. 11 out of 18 found this helpful
